SSH Telnet
Find what Telnet is and exactly where it’s employed.
SSH, which is an abbreviation for Secure Shell, is a network protocol that is used to exchange encrypted info between a client and a server, which makes it impossible for unauthorized parties to intercept any data. Many tech-savvy users opt for SSH mainly because of the better security level. The connection is created and the commands are sent through a command line. The offered options depend on the type of Internet hosting service - on a shared server, in particular, files could be moved or deleted, databases may be imported and exported, and archives may be created or unpacked. On a virtual or a dedicated server, the choices are much more - the web server and the database server may be started/stopped/rebooted, server-side software could be installed plus much more. These things aren't possible on a shared server, since full root access is required and all the other customers on that server would be affected. Although SSH is used predominantly with UNIX-like OSs, there are SSH clients for other OSs as well - Windows, Mac OS, and so on.

SSH Telnet in Cloud Hosting
If you have a
cloud hosting account with us and you'd like to handle your content remotely via SSH, you could receive SSH access to the account via your Hepsia Control Panel. If your plan doesn't come with this feature by default, you may add it with a few mouse clicks through the Upgrades menu. In the SSH section of the CP, you will see the host, the port number and the username which you should use when you connect to the account. You can even select what password you would want to use, as it does not have to be the same as the one for the account. We have prepared a number of Help articles in which you can find each of the commands that you'll be able to use with a shared hosting package, as well as examples of how they're used. Moreover, if SSH access is allowed for your account, you will be able to establish a Secure FTP (SFTP) connection using a standard client such as FileZilla, for example.

These login credentials are also required if you'd like to upload files using a secure connection and you want to use SFTP, which is also part of the SSH access service which we provide you with. As the VPS is a software emulation of a dedicated server and is isolated from the other accounts within the physical machine, there will be no restrictions regarding the commands which you can use. You will have full root access, so that you may install and run any application that can work on a Linux machine, manage files, folders and databases or start/stop/reboot your entire machine or any software operating on it.
